Regular Season Round 14: Guangdong ST - Guangsha L. 112-97

CBA top team - Guandong Tigers (14-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (10-5) in Dongguan 112-97. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' 50. Guandong Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' players. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) notched 32 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and the other American import swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) supported him with 25 points and 6 assists. Even 27 points and 6 rebounds by the former international Sun Minghui (192-96) did not help to save the game for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Forward Ruoyu Su (205-91) added 10 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-1 record. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions at the other side keep the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Liaoning FL and Jilin NE T.. Guandong Tigers will play against Golden Bulls (#8) in Hangzhou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play at home against Bayi Rockets and hope to get back on the winning track.
