Regular Season Round 6: Spirou - Marburg 59-84

An exciting game was played in Charleroi. Second ranked German BC Pharmaserv Marburg faced their close opponent Belgian Spirou Ladies Charleroi. Guests from Marburg (3-1) smashed host Spirou Ladies Charleroi (1-4) 84-59. BC Pharmaserv Marburg forced 20 Spirou Ladies Charleroi turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Spirou Ladies Charleroi's players. American guard Tonisha Baker (173-90, college: Campbell) notched 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and the other American import guard Candice White (173, college: Fresno St., agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) supported her with 17 points. Five BC Pharmaserv Marburg players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 7 rebounds by center Sofie Hendrickx (186-86, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) did not help to save the game for Spirou Ladies Charleroi. Forward Sarah Quiaco added 15 points and 7 rebounds. Spirou Ladies Charleroi's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. BC Pharmaserv Marburg maintains second position in Group B with 3-1 record behind leader Chomutov, which they share with Kangoeroes. Spirou Ladies Charleroi at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
