Regular Season Round 6: Satu Mare - Zabiny Brno 75-66

An exciting game was played in Satu Mare. First ranked Romanian Satu Mare faced their close opponent Czech Zabiny Brno. Host Satu Mare (2-2) defeated guests from Brno (5-1) 75-66. It was a key game for the top position in Group B. Satu Mare made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Russian forward Julia Gladkova (185-94) chipped in 10 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Katerina Zohnova (179-84) who recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Janee Thompson (170-93, college: Kentucky) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Zabiny Brno's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Satu Mare maintains first position in Group B with 2-2 record which they share with defeated Zabiny Brno. Loser Zabiny Brno still keeps top place with one game lost. Satu Mare will have a break next round. Zabiny Brno will play at home against the league's leader SBS Ostrava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
