Regular Season Round 17: Levice - Rieker KN 80-73

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Rieker KN (3-12) was defeated on the road by second ranked Levice (10-4) 80-73. Strangely Rieker KN outrebounded Levice 41-23 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Viktor Juricek (211-93, college: Texas A&M-CC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Marty Hill (196, college: Evansville) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Levice's coach Michal Madzin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Miles Bowman-Jr (198-93, college: High Point) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Austin Williams (203-94, college: Drexel) added 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Rieker KN. Five Rieker KN players scored in double figures. Levice have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-4 record behind leader Inter Bratislava. Rieker KN lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Levice will play against league's leader Inter Bratislava on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rieker KN will play against Zilina (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
