Regular Season Round 6: Piestanske C. - Slovanka MB 77-64

There was no surprise in Piestany where bottom-ranked Czech Slovanka MB (0-4) was defeated by second ranked Slovakian Piestanske C. (4-1) 77-64 on Wednesday. Piestanske C. outrebounded Slovanka MB 41-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Swedish forward Danielle Hamilton-Carter (190-90, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Katarina Tetemondova (188-88) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. Piestanske C.'s coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Eliska Halova (179-1) who recorded 20 points and point guard Monika Fucikova (174-2) added 10 points respectively. Piestanske C. have a solid three-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Chomutov lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in Group A. Loser Slovanka MB still closes the standings with four games lost. Piestanske C. will face league's leader Chomutov on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Slovanka MB will play against Kangoeroes and hopes to get finally their first victory.
