Regular Season Round 24: Kumamoto V. - Kagawa FA 85-103

Rather predictable result when second ranked Kagawa FA (16-6) beat on the road 4th ranked Kumamoto V. (10-14) 103-85 on Wednesday. Kagawa FA looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who had a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kagawa FA players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Kagawa FA maintains second position with 16-6 record having six points less than leader Gunma. Kumamoto V. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. Kagawa FA will face Aomori W. (#5) on the road in the next round. Kumamoto V. will play against Orange Vikings in Matsuyama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
