Fifth ranked Knicks (5-20) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging their close opponent Warriors (5-21) 124-122 in the fight for the fifth place. Knicks made 26-of-34 charity shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Knicks outrebounded Warriors 58-46 including a 46-32 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Knicks brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Warriors were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Marcus Morris (206-89, college: Kansas) had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Julius Randle (206-94, college: Kentucky) chipped in 24 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. DAngelo Russell (196-96, college: Ohio St.) responded with 32 points and 6 assists and forward Draymond Green (201-90, college: Michigan St.) produced a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Knicks maintains fifth position with 5-20 record which they share with defeated Warriors. Warriors at the other side keep the fifth place with 21 games lost.
