Regular Season Round 19: Chiba J. - Hokkaido L. 84-47

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Chiba J. (12-7) crushed at home 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (9-10) 84-47 on Wednesday. Chiba J. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hokkaido L.'s 28. They outrebounded Hokkaido L. 38-22 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chiba J. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hokkaido L.'s players. It was a very good performance for naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-95, college: UNC) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and international power forward Sean Ichioka (200-91) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hokkaido L.Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chiba J.. They maintain fourth place with 12-7 record. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Chiba J. will face league's leader Osaka E. on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hokkaido L. will play against the league's second-placed Ryukyu GK (#2) and hope to win that game.
