There was no surprise in Aldeota where 15th ranked SKY/Basquete (3-12) was edged by tenth ranked Minas (7-7) 82-79 on Thursday. Minas made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. SKY/Basquete was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was international guard Alex Garcia (191-80, agency: Interperformances) who scored 29 points and 4 assists. The former international guard Guilherme Pereira (190-91) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Sualisson Da-Silva (195-92) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-94, college: Mount Olive) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Minas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place. Loser SKY/Basquete keeps the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Minas will face higher ranked Corinthians (#6) in Sao Paulo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
