Regular Season Round 51: Detroit P. - Dallas M. 111-122

Very significant was Mavericks' (#1, 17-7) victory against 3rd placed Pistons (10-15) 122-111. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pistons. They outrebounded Pistons 52-34 including a 41-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mavericks looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Slovenian guard Luka Doncic (201-99) who had a triple-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Point guard Seth Curry (185-90, college: Duke) chipped in 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Andre Drummond (208-93, college: UConn) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and guard Derrick Rose (190-88, college: Memphis) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Pistons players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mavericks maintains first place with 17-7 record, which they share with Boston C. Loser Pistons keep the third position with 15 games lost.
