Regular Season Round 11: Gorgan - Petrochimi 66-47

Second defeat of league's leader Petrochimi (10-2) against second ranked Gorgan (10-1) 66-47 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Petrochimi. It was a key game for the top position in the league. American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. International guard Navid Rezaeifar (185-96) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Gorgan players scored in double figures. International Mohammad Hassanzadeh (203-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and international Rasoul Mozafari (188-94) added 13 points in the effort for Petrochimi. Petrochimi's coach Farzad Kouhian rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gorgan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Petrochimi at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Gorgan. Petrochimi will play next round against Shahrdari BA trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Gorgan will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Naft Abadan at home.
