Regular Season Round 12: Skrljevo - Zadar 72-79

There was no surprise when 11th ranked KK Skrljevo (2-10) was defeated at home by second ranked KK Zadar (11-1) 79-72. KK Zadar dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to KK Skrljevo's 26. 24 personal fouls committed by KK Skrljevo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by the former international power forward Domagoj Vukovic (206-93) who scored that evening 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American guard Bryon Allen (193-92, college: GMU) supported him with 14 points and 5 assists. KK Zadar's coach Ante Nazor allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 18 points and 5 assists by Mate Mandic (197-98) did not help to save the game for KK Skrljevo. Forward Ivan Batur (201-91) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. KK Zadar have an impressive ten-game winning streak. KK Zadar keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Cibona. KK Skrljevo lost sixth consecutive game. KK Skrljevo at the other side keeps the eleventh place with ten games lost. KK Zadar's next round opponent will be league's leader Cibona in Zagreb and it will be for sure the game of the week. KK Skrljevo will play on the road against Dubrava (#10) in Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
