Regular Season Round 13: Melilla - Ourense 80-75

An interesting game took place in Melilla where 6th ranked Ourense (8-5) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Melilla Baloncesto (7-6) 80-75 on Friday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ourense. Ourense trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 24-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-80 at the end of the game. Melilla Baloncesto dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Ourense's 28. They outrebounded Ourense 46-30 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Melilla Baloncesto looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Nigerian-Canadian guard Caleb Agada (196-94, college: Ottawa, agency: Blacktop Management) stepped up and scored 8 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and American power forward Amadou Sidibe (203-94, college: Fairfield, agency: Players Group) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Melilla Baloncesto's coach Alejandro Alcoba used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Serbian center Darko Balaban (211-89, agency: PEPI SPORT) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Oscar Alvarado (184-91) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Melilla Baloncesto moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Caceres. Loser Ourense keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Melilla Baloncesto will face Lleida Basquet (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
