Regular Season Round 13: Caceres - Alicante 63-65

A very interesting game took place in Caceres. It ended with only two-point home defeat of higher ranked Caceres Basket (7-6) to thirteenth ranked HLA Alicante (6-7) 65-63 on Friday evening. It looked good early as Caceres Basket took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then HLA Alicante took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 2 points. Worth to mention a great performance of Jose Ortega (192-97) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Josep Busquets (200-99) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four HLA Alicante players scored in double figures. HLA Alicante's coach Pedro Rivero used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Aitor Zubizarreta (190-95, college: Idaho Coll.) answered with 12 points and Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (191-91) added 13 points in the effort for Caceres Basket. HLA Alicante moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Granada and Castello. Caceres Basket at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. HLA Alicante's next round opponent will be CB Granada (#10) at home.
