The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventeenth ranked Saint-Quentin's (3-7) home victory over bottom-ranked Poitiers (1-9) 78-59 on Friday. They outrebounded Poitiers 45-29 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American-Jamaican center Ryan Rhoomes (203-92, college: Fordham, agency: HMS) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Vincentian-Canadian forward Lien Phillip (203-89, college: Windsor) supported him with 6 points and 13 rebounds. Even a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds by power forward Mickael Var (205-90) did not help to save the game for Poitiers. Forward Kevin Mendy (200-92) added 6 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Saint-Quentin moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Paris. Poitiers lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Saint-Quentin will meet higher ranked Lille Metropole (#9) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Poitiers will play against Aix-Maurienne (#13) and hope to win that game.
