Regular Season Round 11: Dafni - Napfliou 64-84

Bottom-ranked Napfliou managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses. This time newly promoted Napfliou outleveled eighth-ranked Dafni in Athens 84-64. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference suggests that Napfliou is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Dafni's 28. Napfliou forced 19 Dafni turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Fanis Koumpouras (185-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 assists. Serbian center Stefan Djordjevic (206-89) helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Andreas Kanonidis (200-91) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Panagiotis Filippakos (203-94) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Napfliou (3-8) moved-up to fourteenth place. Dafni at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Napfliou will play against higher ranked Tritonas S. (#12) in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dafni's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Amyntas D..
