Regular Season Round 21: Toyoda Gosei - Aisin AW 72-79

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Aichi: Aisin AW (#3) and Toyoda Gosei (#2). Toyoda Gosei was defeated at home 72-79 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Toyoda Gosei. It was a good game for American Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Senegalese forward Assane Diop (197-92, college: Austin Peay) contributed with 4 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import Luke Evans (203-91, college: CBU) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Toyoda Gosei. Toyoda Gosei's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aisin AW have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 14-7 record having just three points less than leader Iwate Big Bulls. Toyoda Gosei at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Aisin AW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyoda Gosei's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face again at home their local rival from Aichi Aisin AW.
