Regular Season Round 13: Vic - Almozara 73-68

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Almozara (2-10) lost on the road to second ranked Vic (11-1) 73-68 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Vic outrebounded Almozara 44-25 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Jose Ortega (192-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Canadian forward Zac Overwater (201-96) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Alex Ruiz answered with 15 points and forward Hugo Cano (195-93) added 12 points in the effort for Almozara. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Vic. They keep a position of Group C-A leader, which they share with Igualada. Almozara lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth place with ten games lost. Vic will face Maristes Ademar (#7) in Badalona in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Almozara will play at home against Arenys (#8) and hope to win that game.
