Regular Season Round 20: Shimane SM - Toyama G. 75-78

The most interesting game of round 20 in the B1 League was only three-point a home defeat of 6th ranked Shimane Magic (6-14) to third ranked Toyama G. (7-13) 78-75. Toyama G. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Shimane Magic helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and international forward Naoki Uto (188-91) who added 17 points and 8 assists during the contest. Toyama G.'s coach Don Beck used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Takuya Soma (181-91) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toyama G. maintains third position with 7-13 record having eight points less than leader Tochigi B. Shimane Magic lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. Toyama G. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shimane Magic will play again at home against Toyama G. (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
