Regular Season Round 13: Jairis - UCAM Murcia 2 65-70

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 3rd placed Jairis (8-5) lost at home to fourth ranked UCAM Murcia II (8-3) 70-65 on Saturday. UCAM Murcia II outrebounded Jairis 43-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for swingman Ismael Corraliza (192-0) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 rebounds. Antonio Burgos (201-0) contributed with 9 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Juan Ballesta (181-92) answered with 13 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and Italian-Argentinian Juan-Ignacio Jasen (200-85) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Jairis. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for UCAM Murcia II. They moved-up to third place in Group E-B. Loser Jairis dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. UCAM Murcia II will face Calpe (#6) at home in the next round. Jairis will play against the league's leader Alginet and hope to win that game.
