Regular Season Round 25: Ibaraki R. - Tokyo Z 78-73

Rather predictable result when third ranked Ibaraki R. (12-13) won against 5th ranked Tokyo Z (8-17) in Tsukuba 78-73 on Saturday. Ibaraki R. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 30. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds. Swingman Josei Maniwa (193-86) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. American forward Kyle Casey (201-90, college: Harvard) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and guard Takumi Masuko (186-91) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Tokyo Z. Ibaraki R. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-13 record having six points less than leader Shinshu BW. Loser Tokyo Z keeps the fifth position with 17 games lost. Ibaraki R. will face again Tokyo Z (#5) at home in the next round.
