Regular Season Round 25: Fukushima - Yamagata 85-86

A very close game took place in Fukushima between Yamagata and Fukushima. Sixth ranked Yamagata (7-18) got a very close victory on the road over 4th placed Fukushima (8-15). Yamagata managed to escape with a 1-point win 86-85 on Saturday evening. Yamagata looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Jason Carter (206-92, college: Texas Southern, agency: Haylett Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and guard Hiroki Furuhashi (185-92) accounted for 16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) came up with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Jamaican forward Staphon Blair (206-93, college: UCF) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Fukushima in the defeat. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Yamagata maintains sixth place with 7-18 record, which they share with Fukuoka R. Fukushima lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Yamagata will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukushima will play again against Yamagata (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
