There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Tritonas S. (3-7) beat 11th ranked Filippos Veroias (3-7) in Athens 78-71 on Saturday. Tritonas S. forced 20 Filippos Veroias turnovers. Filippos Veroias was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Nikos Kokkalis (198-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 4 steals. Serbian forward Nikola Stanojevic (203-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Tritonas S.'s coach Michalis Mihelakos allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian forward Miljan Drekalovic (202-91) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Efthimis Kothras (193-81) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Filippos Veroias. Tritonas S. moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with defeated Filippos Veroias. Filippos Veroias lost their third game in a row. Tritonas S. will face Napfliou (#14) on the road in the next round.
