Regular Season Round 13: Avila - Leon 87-64

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Leon (3-7) was outscored by fifth ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (7-3) in Avila 87-64 on Saturday. Fontedoso Carrefour outrebounded Leon 44-20 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Fontedoso Carrefour looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for point guard Jaume Lobo (180-97) who helped to win the game recording 32 points. Juan Castro (198-98) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Alan Morchon (185-99) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Swedish forward Musa Jeng (202-99) added 14 points in the effort for Leon. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fontedoso Carrefour moved-up to third place in Group A-B, which they share with Chantada and PBB. Leon lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour will face Xiria (#12) in Carballo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leon will play at home against Betanzos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
