Regular Season Round 25: Ehime OV - Kumamoto V. 93-88

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Kumamoto V.'s (10-15) road loss to third ranked Orange Vikings (14-11) in Matsuyama 88-93 on Saturday. Orange Vikings made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Quite impressive performance for American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Irish forward Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) contributed with 6 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 18 assists and American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) added 20 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Kumamoto V.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Orange Vikings have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain third place with 14-11 record having four points less than leader Shinshu BW, which they share with FE Nagoya. Kumamoto V. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Orange Vikings will face again Kumamoto V. (#4) at home in the next round.
