Regular Season Round 12: Cagliari V. - HS Lab 62-56

Bottom-ranked HS Lab (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 62-56 loss to twelfth ranked Cagliari V. (4-7) in Cagliari. The winners were led by the former international power forward Federica Brunetti (184-88, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who scored that evening 19 points and 8 rebounds and Bulgarian point guard Iva Georgieva (170-96, college: Salt Lake CC) supported her with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 22 points and 4 blocks (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) by forward Sara Ronchi (180-3) did not help to save the game for HS Lab. Point guard Vittoria Blasigh (175-4) added 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cagliari V. moved-up to eleventh place in A2. HS Lab at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Cagliari V.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Umbertide (#5) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. HS Lab will play against the league's leader Campobasso (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
