Regular Season Round 10: A3 Basket - Visby 89-61

Everything went according to plan in Umea where fourth ranked A3 Basket (7-2) outscored bottom-ranked Visby Ladies (0-9) 89-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. A3 Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Visby Ladies' 34. A3 Basket forced 20 Visby Ladies turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Visby Ladies' players. Finnish center Sofia Pelander (192-92) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and guard Sandra Hansson (182-94) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. A3 Basket's coach Jan Enjebo felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Alexa Middleton (175-95, college: Iowa St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and her fellow American import forward Julie Spencer (186-96, college: Portland) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. A3 Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Loser Visby Ladies still closes the standings with nine games lost. A3 Basket will have a break next round. Visby Ladies will play at home against Alvik Basket (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
