Very important is a road loss of third ranked Toyama G. (7-14) against sixth ranked Shimane Magic (7-14) on Sunday night. Visiting Toyama G. was crushed by Shimane Magic in Shimane 80-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toyama G.. They outrebounded Toyama G. 42-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shimane Magic players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and guard Tomokazu Abe (180-85) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for Toyama G.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shimane Magic moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Toyama G. Shimane Magic's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyama G. will play at home against Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
