Regular Season Round 13: Betanzos - Chantada 58-69

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Chantada (7-3) defeated on the road 13th ranked Betanzos (2-8) 69-58 on Sunday. Chantada forced 19 Betanzos turnovers. It was a very good performance for point guard Martin Rodriguez (182-96) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. Montenegrin center Filip Knezevic (205-94) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Chantada players scored in double figures. Center Marcos Rozas (202-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and guard Guillermo Pereiro (191-89) added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Betanzos. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chantada. They moved-up to third place in Group A-B, which they share with PBB and Avila. Loser Betanzos keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Chantada will face La Antigua (#8) in Salamanca in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Betanzos will play on the road against Leon (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
