Very expected game when 7th ranked Maccabi Haifa (4-6) lost on the road to second ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (7-1) 95-81. Hapoel Jerusalem shot 61.3 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The best player for the winners was international power forward Idan Zalmanson (206-95) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). International point guard Tamir Blatt (187-97) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach David-Oded Kattache allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Jerusalem's next round opponent will be Hapoel Eilat (#7) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi Haifa will play against Hapoel Holon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
