Important game to mention about took place in Auckland. Fourth ranked Adelaide 36ers (8-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked New Zealand Breakers (4-10) 99-96 on Sunday evening. New Zealand Breakers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Ukrainian-American point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 4 assists. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) contributed with 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. New Zealand forward Thomas Abercrombie (198-87, college: WSU) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) added 20 points in the effort for New Zealand Breakers. Five New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Adelaide 36ers maintains fourth position with 8-7 record. New Zealand Breakers at the other side keep the eighth place with ten games lost. Adelaide 36ers will play against Cairns Taipans (#6) on the road in the next round. New Zealand Breakers will play against Illawarra Hawks in Gwynneville and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
