Regular Season Round 12: Hawks - United 73-94

Date: December 16, 2019
No shocking result in a game in Gwynneville where third ranked United (9-7) smashed bottom-ranked Illawarra Hawks (3-11) 94-73 on Monday. The best player for the winners was American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. The other American import guard Melo Trimble (190-95, college: Maryland) chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four United players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Emmett Naar (185-94, college: St.Mary's, CA) who recorded 16 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international center AJ Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. United maintains third position with 9-7 record having just two points less than leader Kings. Illawarra Hawks lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. United will face league's second-placed Perth Wildcats on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Illawarra Hawks will play against New Zealand Breakers (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
