Regular Season Round 22: Okayama - Saga B. 87-90

The most exciting game of round 22 in the B3 League took place in Okayama. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Okayama (11-10) to sixth ranked Saga B. (13-9) 90-87 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Okayama. It was a great shooting night for Saga B. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Americans were the main players on the court. Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Yates is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Saga B. players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: FAU) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall, agency: HMS) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Okayama's coach Yoichi Motoyasu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Saga B. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Okayama at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Saga B. are looking forward to face Gifu Swoops (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Okayama will play against Kagoshima (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
