Twelfth-ranked Korihait (3-16) gave a tough game to third ranked Kauhajoki (13-7) in Uusikaupunki. The visitors from Kauhajoki managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Korihait was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 26-21 third quarter run of Kauhajoki. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by guard Cameron Jones (193-89, college: NAU) who scored that evening 10 points and 7 assists and forward Samuel Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) supported him with 14 points. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by power forward Jalen Henry (204-96, college: SIUE) did not help to save the game for Korihait. Guard Trey Zeigler (196-91, college: TCU) added 15 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Four Kauhajoki and five Korihait players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third position with 13-7 record having four points less than leader Seagulls. Korihait lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Kauhajoki will play against Ura Basket (#9) in Kaarina in the next round where they are favorite. Korihait will play on the road against BC Nokia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
