Regular Season Round 14: Ponzano - Moncalieri 45-79

Serie A2 top team - Moncalieri (12-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Ponzano (4-8) in Veneto 79-45. Moncalieri forced 23 Ponzano turnovers and outrebounded them 46-22 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. German forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Claire Giacomelli (175-98) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Francesca Leonardi (184-2) replied with 16 points and Croatian Ruzica Dzankic (179-94) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ponzano. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Moncalieri maintains first position in A2 with 12-1 record. Ponzano at the other side keeps the twelfth place with eight games lost. Moncalieri's next round opponent will be Scrivia (#4) at home. Ponzano will play against Carugate (#5) in Corugate and hope to win that game.
