Regular Season Round 22: Okayama - Saga B. 84-103

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Saga B. (13-9) smashed on the road 5th ranked Okayama (11-10) 103-84 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Okayama 39-24 including a 31-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Saga B. shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Okayama's players. Okayama was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Shuhei Komatsu (185-85) chipped in 31 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side American forward Terrance King (198-90, college: E.Stroudsburg) responded with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: FAU) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Okayama players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Saga B. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Okayama at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Saga B. will face Gifu Swoops (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Okayama will play against Kagoshima (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
