Regular Season Round 8: Reims - Toulouse 72-49

The game between Top Four teams took place in Reims. Second ranked host Reims (7-1) smashed one of their biggest challengers Toulouse (6-2) 72-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toulouse. Reims dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Toulouse's 22. They outrebounded Toulouse 44-21 including a 36-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Monique Oliver (188-90, college: Rutgers) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 5 rebounds and Finnish forward Annika Holopainen (185-93, college: ODU, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) who added 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Reims players scored in double figures. Reims' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Lucie Carlier (187-90) responded with 7 points and 9 rebounds and guard Marine Mulumba (173-97) scored 9 points and 5 assists. Reims have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader Aulnoye. Toulouse at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. Reims are looking forward to face La Tronche (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Toulouse will play against SIG (#7) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
