Regular Season Round 58: San Antonio S. - Brooklyn N. 118-105

An exciting game was played in San Antonio. Third ranked Spurs faced one of their biggest challengers Nets. Host Spurs (11-16) defeated guests from Brooklyn (15-13) 118-105. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nets. Spurs made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spurs made 8 blocks. Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge (211-85, college: Texas) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and Australian point guard Patrick Mills (183-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 27 points during the contest. Five Spurs players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Spencer Dinwiddie (198-93, college: Colorado) responded with 41 points (!!!) and 5 assists and forward Jarrett Allen (211-98, college: Texas) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spurs maintains third position with 11-16 record having seven points less than leader Philadelphia 76, which they share with Phoenix Suns. Loser Nets keep the fourth place with 13 games lost.
