Regular Season Round 15: Los Leones - CD Castro 77-81

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed Los Leones' (8-10) home loss to second ranked CD Castro (9-7) 77-81 on Friday. CD Castro dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Los Leones' 32. The best player for the winners was American forward Cedric Blossom (198-94, college: Morgan St.) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Mike Poole (196-92, college: Iona) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four CD Castro players scored in double figures. CD Castro's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was S Hairston who recorded 22 points and 6 rebounds and Italian-Argentinian center Omar Canton (206-82) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Despite that victory CD Castro went down to third position due to points difference. Loser Los Leones dropped to the fourth place with ten games lost. CD Castro will face AB Ancud (#6) at home in the next round. Los Leones will play against Universidad Catolica in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
