An interesting game for Celtics (19-7) which hosted in Boston their close opponent Pistons (11-18). Third ranked Celtics had an easy win 114-93. Celtics dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Pistons' 46. Celtics forced 24 Pistons turnovers and outrebounded them 51-36 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Celtics brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Jaylen Brown (201-96, college: California) who scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Jayson Tatum (203-98, college: Duke) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. Center Andre Drummond (208-93, college: UConn) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and Australian-South Sudanese forward Thon Maker (216-97) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Pistons players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Celtics maintains third place with 19-7 record having just two points less than leader Toronto R. which they share with defeated Pistons. Pistons lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 18 games lost. Celtics will have a break next day. Pistons will play at home against Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
