Regular Season Round 21: Seagulls - Kobrat 94-64

Leader Seagulls delivered the eighteenth victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked Kobrat (6-14) 94-64 in Helsinki. The game was mostly controlled by Seagulls. Kobrat was better in fourth quarter 28-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kobrat to just 5 points in first quarter. Seagulls forced 20 Kobrat turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international Antti Kanervo (192-89, agency: Blacktop Management) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Seagulls players scored in double figures. Coach Jussi Laakso's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Reggie Keely (204-91, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Brandon Boggs (198-92, college: W.Carolina, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 14 points in the effort for Kobrat. Seagulls have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-3 record. Kobrat at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Seagulls will play against bottom-ranked Korihait (#12) in Uusikaupunki in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Kobrat will play at home against Kataja and hopes to get back on the winning track.
