Very important is a road loss of third ranked Magic (12-17) against fourth ranked Trail Blazers (13-16) on Friday night. Visiting Magic was defeated by Trail Blazers in Portland 118-103. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Trail Blazers had a 43-30 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Trail Blazers made 11 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Damian Lillard (190-90, college: Weber St.) who led the winners and scored 36 points (!!!) and 6 assists. Guard CJ McCollum (193-91, college: Lehigh) accounted for 31 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Montenegrin center Nikola Vucevic (213-90, college: USC) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and Aaron Gordon (206-95, college: Arizona) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Magic in the defeat. Four Trail Blazers and five Magic players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trail Blazers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 13-16 record. Magic lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 17 games lost. Trail Blazers will meet at home Timberwolves (#5) in the next day. Magic will have a break next day.
