Regular Season Round 15: Puente Alto - Puerto Montt 106-88

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Puente Alto (11-6) defeated at home 4th placed Puerto Montt (8-10) 106-88 on Friday. Puente Alto shot 60.7 percent from the field. Puente Alto outrebounded Puerto Montt 39-25 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerien swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-94, college: UCF) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. The former international point guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian point guard Alex Johnson (178-88, college: NC State) who recorded 22 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Tomas Alvarez (185-89) added 22 points respectively. Five Puente Alto and four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Puente Alto. They maintain first place with 11-6 record. Loser Puerto Montt keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Puente Alto will face Quilicura (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Puerto Montt will play against the league's leader Las Animas and hope to win that game.
