Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Madrid: ASEFA Estudiantes (#1) and Real Canoe (#3). ASEFA Estudiantes (11-1) smashed visiting Real Canoe (8-4) by 20 points 84-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Real Canoe. They outrebounded Real Canoe 50-27 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Mariana Gonzalez (187-88) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Judy Jones (175-90, college: GCU) chipped in 7 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Four ASEFA Estudiantes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Macarena Roldan-Garcia (176-94) who recorded 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Esther Diaz added 13 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ASEFA Estudiantes have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 11-1 record. Loser Real Canoe keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
