Regular Season Round 11: Fos-Provence - Gries/Oberhoffen 93-71

An interesting game took place in Fos-sur-Mer where higher ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (4-7) was upset on the court of seventeenth ranked Provence Basket (3-8) 93-71 on Friday. Provence Basket forced 19 Gries/Oberhoffen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Gries/Oberhoffen was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for swingman Lucas Hergott (200-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Center Bodian Massa (205-97) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. Israeli Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St., agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 13 points and Bruno Cingala-Mata (200-93) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Five Provence Basket and four Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Provence Basket moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Saint-Quentin and Paris. Gries/Oberhoffen lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Provence Basket will face higher ranked Aix-Maurienne (#12) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
