Regular Season Round 18: Beijing Ducks - Zhejiang Ch. 93-112

The most important game in the last round took place in Beijing between third ranked Beijing Ducks (13-6) and tenth ranked Golden Bulls (10-8) on Friday night. Beijing Ducks were crushed by Golden Bulls at home 112-93. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Beijing Ducks. Golden Bulls made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Beijing Ducks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 33 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American-Austrian swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia, agency: BeoBasket) who had a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Qian Wu (190-94) chipped in 23 points, 7 assists and 6 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian-American power forward Ekpe Udoh (208-87, college: Baylor) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and Taiwanese-American point guard Jeremy Lin (190-88, college: Harvard) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Golden Bulls maintains tenth position with 10-8 record, which they share with Qingdao E. Beijing Ducks at the other side keep the third place with six games lost. Golden Bulls is looking forward to face Blue Whales (#17) in Sichuan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Beijing Ducks will play on the road against Brave Dragons (#4) in Taiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
