Regular Season Round 11: Vichy Clermont - Souffel 78-69

The game between second ranked Souffelweyersheim (8-3) and seventh ranked JA Vichy (7-4) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Souffelweyersheim was defeated by JA Vichy in a tough game in Vichy 69-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Souffelweyersheim. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (195-84, college: CSUN) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valpo) helped adding 9 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Juwan Staten (185-92, college: WVU) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Sylvain Sautier (198-89) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JA Vichy moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Quimper. Newly promoted Souffelweyersheim keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Saint-Chamond. JA Vichy is looking forward to face Quimper UJAP (#5) on the road in the next round. Souffelweyersheim will play against the league's leader ADA Blois and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
