Regular Season Round 27: Kagawa FA - Fukuoka R. 82-79

Sixth-ranked Fukuoka R. (7-21) made lots of trouble for second ranked Kagawa FA (19-7) in Takamatsu on Friday. Kagawa FA managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Kagawa FA made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Fukuoka R. only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Fukuoka R. 45-34 including 31 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Fukuoka R. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kagawa FA players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish center David Doblas (209-81) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Shunto Murakami (183-96) added 17 points respectively. Fukuoka R.'s coach Iurgi Caminos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kagawa FA maintains second place with 19-7 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Shinshu BW. Fukuoka R. lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 21 games lost. They share it with Koshigaya A.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
