Regular Season Round 15: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Chalon 92-86
Date: December 20, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Chalon/Saor (4-11) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (6-9) 92-86 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Pau-Lacq-Orthez made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Justin Dentmon (183-85, college: Washington, agency: Slash Sports) who led the winners and scored 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Power forward Petr Cornelie (211-95) accounted for 15 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American point guard Justin Robinson (173-95, college: Monmouth) came up with 21 points and 4 assists and British forward Myles Hesson (198-90) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Chalon/Saor in the defeat. Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Chalons-Reims. Loser Chalon/Saor keeps the seventeenth position with 11 games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will meet league's second-placed JDA Dijon on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chalon/Saor will play against Chorale de Roanne (#13) and hope to secure a win.
