Regular Season Round 15: UBU Tizona - Zamorano 87-84

Fourth-ranked Zamorano (7-8) made lots of trouble for first ranked UBU Tizona (12-3) in Burgos. UBU Tizona managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected easier game. It was a good game for point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Guard Alberto Ruiz-de-Galarreta (198-83) contributed with 22 points for the winners. UBU Tizona's coach Jose Luis Cubillo allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Bryce Canda (193-95, college: Portland St.) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Unai Mendikote (196-99) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Zamorano. Four UBU Tizona and five Zamorano players scored in double figures. Newly promoted UBU Tizona maintains first place in Silver with 12-3 record. Zamorano at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. UBU Tizona will play against Estela (#3) in Santander in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Zamorano will play at home against Zornotza (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
